At the core of my being…

I believe there is nothing more important nor special as family.

I believe children keep us young at heart and make a dull day, bright.

Each and every individual should have an opportunity to achieve their own personal best.

The following is taken from our Catholic Education and School Assessment One: Reflective Journal and Mission Statement.

“A Catholic School’s education of students and values transmittance is integral within my vision of education. The Catholic schooling process should have awareness of and actions to help achieve the following:

- Using the life of Jesus Christ and a School motto to guide behaviours, values and actions

This would manifest itself in our relationship with others within the school, parish and wider community and environment including celebrating achievements together at a whole school assembly, mission statement and policies to reflect values and large involvement in social justice causes.

- Love and enthusiasm of learning for students, teachers and parents

This would include using a variety of teaching, learning and assessment strategies, use of CEO approved syllabus documents, organised and up to date use of resources, peer leadership, parent information nights and ecouragement to meet your own personal best.

- Welcoming, safe and helpful community

This includes the school teaching staff, priest and parish, families, important members of the local area such as social justice leaders all encouraged to participate at school in meetins, incursions, canteen etc.

Daily fitness, sun smart initiatives, scholarships and referrals to outside agencies are included to make the community more cohesive.”

Upon some recent thought as I approach the end of my study and cast my eyes toward ‘real fulltime teaching’ I have discovered a specific focus of my passion.

- Physical and mental wellbeing of students: This extends from physical fitness to social skill development and esteem building. Given the opportunity I would love to run or participate in extra curricular activities to foster this wellbeing of students.
