I completed tasks in PowerPoint that I never knew were possible…and I honestly thought I was the queen of PowerPoint! I guess it just goes to show that with IT, well anything really you can ALWAYS learn!
eBook sounds so sophisticated and complicated yet, it was an interactive animation made in PowerPoint!
Despite this, as we completed the next page in the eBook (when Captain Cook opened the secret envelope) I was aware of the skills I needed to use.
- Searching terms in google images
- Learning to open the image up full size before saving it so that when you insert the image, it does not come out blurry!
- Creating a secret sound
- Custom animation
- Adding external music files.
If I was aware of this thinking and skill usage the presenters must have been extremely overwhelmed. They were extremely well prepared with ‘Australian’ music on their USBs to allow the creation process to be faster and less complicated.
I can definately applications of meaning making in reading and catering to the different learning styles and abilities of students in the classroom in literacy acquisition and assessment.
