This was the first presentation I had been able to attend and boy was I

BLOWN AWAY!!!

Sam, Jennifer Ritson, Laura and Jane used the Olympics for us to explore pre-found websites to extract information and answer set questions in a blog form! I thought it was a clever way to join the classes findings in the form of an online matrix! I would love to look into that in a classroom setting.

It was interesting for the computer to tell us “Slow Down: You are posting too quickly!” It was only a slight technical glintch that didn’t annoy me too much at all. We found it as funny as students would I’m sure.

What was not seen during the presentation was the hard work that would have taken place prior to the activity. There were eight sports we focussed on with anywhere from two to five websites per sport to allow us to easily gain the information required of us. It would have been extremely time consuming and I am definately holding onto that information so THANKYOU LADIES!

From never having heard of WordPress to having a comprehensive e-Portfolio and opportuntiy for class blog WordPress is starting to look useful!

I was always considering some sort of PenPal activity to utilise in my own classroom but the logistics of it always stumped me. To see the extended use of WordPress and online blogging the opportunity for PenPal activity to occur is greatly increased.

Ofcourse there are safety risks to be negotiated and THANKYOU AGAIN LADIES this group managed to provide some ‘going online tips’ from what students need to know to tips to keep children safe.
